God damn it’s been a while since I’ve posted.
Anyway.
MSTRKFT and John Legend rehearse. Motherfuck it’s coming full circle.
So I haven’t posted in a while. Hi.
Here’s a video of a sick, dark, dance track by DJ Mujava called Township Funk from a little place called Pretoria, South Africa. Google it.
Here’s also a bMore remix from no one other than thee Scottie B: DJ Mujava - Township Funk (Scottie B & The Chavy Boys remix) (Sharebee)
DJ Shadow - “Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt”
Grandiose. Epic. Anthemic. Gigantic. These words hardly describe the downbeat for this Godfatherly trip/hop and ambient composition. It is truly bigger than that. As soon as I hear it, I have the strange desire to stab my hands and arms into soft earth and dig. Not so much fast or out of control, but deep, deliberately and with great care. I dig and dig, and as I move past the mantle of our planet the song begins to engulf me. At some point around 4 minutes, there is no Earth, no me, and no DJ Shadow. There’s just the steam.
P.S. It’s off Entroducing.

“Pandora is one of the nation’s most popular Web radio services, with about 1 million listeners daily. Its Music Genome Project allows customers to create stations tailored to their own tastes. It is one of the 10 most popular applications for Apple’s iPhone and attracts 40,000 new customers a day.

“We’re approaching a pull-the-plug kind of decision,” said Tim Westergren, who founded Pandora. “This is like a last stand for webcasting.”
The transformation of words, songs and movies to digital media has…”

Larry Levan (born Lawrence Philpot, July 20, 1954 – died November 8, 1992[1]) was a DJ who spun discs at the New York City night club Paradise Garage. The club has been described as the prototype of the modern dance club, because it was entirely focused on dancing, and was the first to put the DJ at the center of attention. He developed a cult following, who referred to his sets as “Saturday Mass”. Influential US DJ François Kevorkian credits Levan with introducing the dub aesthetic into dance music.

I thought this was a cool remix for Midnight Star’s Midas Touch. It’s a Syhnth-Pop/Electro remix of this huge 80’s track.

HUGE HUGE HUGE props to DJ Neoteric for his UNCANNY ability to find this hot track. I was looking for this song for a HOT minute after Jason Bentley played it on KCRW here in LA. A month later he hooked me up. THANK YOU!
Love this song.
